Spiderman

So as most of you know I have been getting back into rock climbing recently after a short break from the sport. Only thing is, I have no one to climb with on a regular basis. So if you want to give it a go for the first time or already know how and just want to climb some more let me know. I am looking for a climbing partner who wants to climb 1 or 2 days a week. I am a decent climber and have a membership at the Rogue Rock Gym. Let me know if you are interested or want to know more.

Here is a great post that I agree with on how technology is influencing the youth of today, in a not always positive manner.

Why????

So today my CORE 101 class is meeting in the Computer Lab to do some odd stuff like learn to schedual our lives out so we are never late for anything, you know all that stuff we have already learned from our first day of High School on... I can't help but be bitter about the fact that I am being forced to take this class and so far it is exactly like a high school's english class mixed with a touch of life skills 101. Seriously folks we are already in College having graduated from High School with a decent enough transcript to get in to college, do I really need a class that I am paying for to teach me to fill out a calander. I am tired of these type of pointless filler classes that you are required to take all through out your education career. I want classes that inspire and challenge me not classes that hold my hand the entire way though and a teacher that is to politically correct to state her own opinion on a topic that could in some way offend one of us... lame...

So yes I have been tagged and now am forced to play this silly game, however it's fun to read so I will indulge if for nothing else than for your personal enjoyment.

The first player of this game starts with the topic "“five weird habits of yourself,"” and people who get tagged need to write an entry about their five weird habits as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next five people to be tagged and link to their web journals. Don'’t forget to leave a comment in their blog or journal that says "You have been tagged" (assuming they take comments) and tell them to read yours.

1) I have a squeegee in my shower that I use every time I shower so that I don't have water spots on the shower door. It's glass.

2)I love to put fried spam bits into my scrambled eggs, It's actually quite good, a Hawaiian taught this trick to me, they are the spam masters.

3)I love Jackets, I own 14 of them that I can think of off of the top of my head.

4)I don't like the look of upper body hair on me and thus have been even known to wax my arm pits once, boy oh boy was that ever a bad idea. The blood the blood it's every where.

5) I am a caffeine addict, I drink 8-10 shots of espresso on a normal day sometimes more, I think this may be part of the reason that I have such a hi metabolism and cant seem to gain weight.

I can't think of anyone that has not already been tagged that reads my page, so if you are reading this and have not already been tagged, you have now. Good luck!

This is a great example of how "the System" should work. This man has taken on the responsibility of being the head of the NY school system and is not shying away from his actions but taking personal responsibility for them. This is what I want to see more of from all members of our government. They are after all representatives of us the people of America and are therefore accountable to us for there actions and decisions. Bravo sir, bravo.

A Short History of Me

Try moving a 2 month old baby to a new town nine hours away via car as a new parent and you will understand what my parents went through when they decided to move back to Jacksonville shortly after I was born on November 22, 1985. I was born in Seattle Washington in the middle of a great snow storm that did it's best to keep my grandparents from coming to see me but nothing can match the determination of a newly made grandmother who wants to see her first grandchild. She would get to see me plenty over the next 20 years however as I moved around several times but always lived near to her here in the beautiful Rogue Valley never being more than a short drive from either set of my grandparents.

I was named for my grandmother's maiden name and have been an adventurous soul from the start. Growing up in the Rogue Valley was a great environment for me to explore and learn about my self and the world around me at the same time. However part of this constant exploring of new things was the consequences of them and thus for much of my life I have been recovering from the last adventure and planning the next. I grew up made friends, said goodbye to friends, and made new friends, always trying to get them to come along with me on the next discovery trip into the field behind our house in Jacksonville or on the next trip down the steepest hill we could find on our roller blades, skateboards, and bikes in east Medford. In the process I managed to break nine bones, catch my self on fire resulting in a 3rd degree burn, shave off my taste buds, chip my skull not once but twice, and step on a sting ray to name a few.

Aside from my many adventures I developed a taste for the finer things in life such as music, art, literature, and video games. To this day I love the art's and plan on getting a masters degree in Architecture to combine my love of art and my desire to build things. I enjoy all types of music as long as it is passionate and listen to it louder and more often then I probably should. Video games are still one of my favorite ways to relax and hang with my friends second only to snowboarding as the thing I enjoy doing the most. And even though I have received four of my nine broken bones from snowboarding, I continue to go up every winter every chance I get to push my self and to enjoy all that the mountain has to offer.

I am the son of a hard headed, pro-logging, self taught handyman, with a love for the outdoors and a nurse who needs to keep her spice rack in order and our floors clean to be content. My sister is a bundle of love, stubbornness, and beauty products. And most recently I have become a father to a now 10 week old female black lab puppy named Kirra, she is the love and frustration of my life as I try to care for her as if she was my first born child in preparation for what one day I hope to happen.

It is finished

The hair has fallen... After 16 months of steady growth there was a massacre on the floor of my living room last night. Now you have to see me to see the results, I am still fine tuning. For my logical behind this decision see the last post.

Ps- Winter term registration at SOU was a complete waste of my time... I hate professional talkers.

I'm Back

Prex is back and back with a vengeance... I am no longer blind as they say, I have been healed, I am no longer an employee of Budget Blinds and am an official Dutch Bro (and the crowd goes wild with excitement). I was planning on waiting a month to the day of my last post to join back in the beauty that is blogging but decided what the hell I am just gonna get on there and do my thing now.

So what's new, well the pup is almost a 10 weeks old and is growing fast, I turned in film today at the good old Costco so I should have pics back soon. I have been getting a lot of emails from my old YWAM buddies all over the world describing all that is happening in my life and I have come to the realization that I have been drifting away from my faith, I have been stagnant, not moving forwards or backwards in my relationship with God but just kinda ignoring it. This is no good. So tonight I am cutting my hair, not just a little, all of it. I am going back to the last major commitment I made to God back in Oct. of 2004. This was the last time I cut my hair and while it might not make sense to everyone, when I cut it I did it as an outward sign of an inward change. I feel that in the last six months or even more recently than that I have lost my focus on that change and so I am cutting it off again almost as a reminder to me about who I am and what I believe in. Hope that makes some sense, probably doesn't but that's ok, it's for me not you, sorry.

So cutting my hair(committing my self a new to God), feeding my dog, starting a new job, and starting school on Monday, suddenly I have very little free time or energy. But at least now I am enjoying all that I am a part of, a hell I said the evil word Sam hit me next time you see me. I am feeling the passion in music, life and love once more and realized just now how much I really missed that connection. It's what makes my heart beat, my blood pump, my eyes open in the morning, and my muscles strain with the final effort. I am also going up to the Mountain tomorrow and riding all afternoon, if you want to go let me know some how and I would be glad to have someone to rip it up next to me.

Go out people, kiss the world, ask questions, do what your passionate about, and treat each other with the dignity and respect that we all deserve. Never stop to put another down, only to lift up. Make the world a better place one action at a time.
